The Challenge
A Western Washington pole barn construction company needed a premium web presence that could showcase their extensive portfolio while being easily manageable through a CMS. The existing site was running on WordPress with poor performance (~14 second load times), weak SEO, and minimal lead generation. The site was difficult to update and provided little value to the business.
Our Solution
Built a CMS-first architecture using Directus as a headless CMS with Next.js 16, React 19, and TypeScript. Implemented a block-based page system with 15+ reusable content blocks, comprehensive animation system using Motion (Framer Motion), and dynamic form generation. All content is CMS-managed with no hardcoded pages, using a hybrid rendering strategy with static generation where possible and SSR for dynamic content. Features include React cache() for request deduplication, module-level promises for parallel data fetching, and auto-generated TypeScript types from Directus schema.
